Established in 1921, according to the directions of Mahatma Gandhi, as the educational memorial of Lokmanya Tilak, the great patriot, leader of the freedom struggle and the great thinker, Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth aimed at imparting national education. The selfless work put in by the devoted teachers and students enabled the Vidyapeeth to survive against all odds during the pre-independence period. Since inception, the Vidyapeeth has catered to the changing needs of the society without compromising on quality and its prime objectives. In recognition of the fundamental contribution made by the Vidyapeeth in the fields of Sanskrit, Ayurveda, Social Sciences and Distance Education, the Vidyapeeth was awarded the status of a Deemed University in the year 1987. The horizons of the Vidyapeeth have been widening ever since. The faculty of Distance Education established in 1985 is taking great leaps ahead. Novel programmes such as BCA, MCA, BBA, MBA, DSW, Hotel Management, Engineering Diploma, and Nursing are adding variety to its menu.
The exam board will be organized the semester exam in the academic year. Before that, the exam board of Tilak Maharashtra University will be issued the TMU exam timetable to the students. The exam board will carry out the semester exam based on the exam date sheet. The official members of the exam board will be created the exam date sheet. Based on the exam date sheet, the students have to appear in the exam without fail. The exam board will upload the exam date sheet in the official site http://www.tmv.edu.in/.
Students who have successfully submitted the application form can only download the admit card from the university website. Admit card is a required document to sit for the exam. It is candidate’s responsibility to make sure that, all the information which is mentioned on the admit card like Name, Date of Birth, Father’s Name, Roll Number and Exam Center etc. must be correct and verified with original documents.
Students have brought the admit card at the examination centre. Else they cannot enter the exam centre.

Admission Process
Selection of the students to the above mentioned Undergraduate courses is done on the basis of TMU entrance examination organized by the university. Students who have passed senior secondary school successfully in any stream can apply for the above mentioned UG programmes. Reservation of seats in courses offered by the university will be in accordance with the policy of Maharashtra state. Out of the total vacancies in various courses, seats are reserved for the students belonging to the SC/ST/OBC categories/Kashmiri migrants/children of freedom fighters etc.
